The professionals needed in Lithuania

In Lithuania, the unemployment rate falls annually and employers more and more frequently speak about a particular lack of certain professionals. The Labour Exchange of Lithuania once in a half of year approves a list of the most in-demand jobs. The said list is approved by the Director of the Labour Exchange of Lithuania and the principal goal of formation of the list is facilitation of the procedure for making a decision on conformity of an alien to the needs of Lithuanian labour market. This list of the lacking professionals is usable as a base for making such decisions. According to the data provided by the Labour Exchange of Lithuania for the second half-year of the year 2015, a particular lack of the following professionals took place:

A welder – there is a lack of these professionals having been awarded with the following Certificates: Bureau Veritas (BV) Certificate, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Certificate, Lloyd’s Register Group (LRG) Certificate and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Certificate. The highest level of scarcity of these professionals is felt in Klaipėda City.
A ship hull assembler – a scarcity of these professionals is felt in Klaipėda City.
A cook for restaurants – a scarcity of these professionals is fixed through the entire territory of Lithuania.
A driver of a vehicle involved in international cargo transportation. The requirements set for a representative of this profession include having an access to TIR procedure and (or) ADR Certificate for transportation of hazardous cargoes. A scarcity of these professionals is fixed through the entire territory of Lithuania.
A scarcity of the above-listed specialists is felt in Lithuania for several years already. Although the above-presented list is supplemented with other professions from time to time (for example, a shortage of tailors was fixed in 2014), the representatives of the above-mentioned professions are found in the list for three recent years.

If an alien is a representative of any of the above-mentioned professions and conforms to the requirements set for it, he can reasonably expect obtaining a positive decision on his conformity to the needs of Lithuanian labour market; in such a case, the employer shall initiate the employment process without major difficulties.
